Cycle Trainers

Not familiar with cycle trainers? They can turn your bicycle into an indoor exercise bike to keep you in shape for the winter. Basically, they hold the back wheel off of the ground (so you stay stationary) and apply resistance to that wheel (to make it a great workout). The type and amount of resistance will vary based on what kind of trainer you buy. Some trainers use wind resistance (spinning a fan) while others use magnet or fluid resistance. Each option has advantages and disadvantages. For example, wind/fan trainers offer very effective and realistic resistance, but they can be noisy. Magnetic trainers are almost silent, but do not simulate riding resistance as well as fan trainers. Fluid systems offer the best of both worlds -- quite, with a realistic resistance feel -- but can be more expensive.Come in and see the options available to you and we will help you find one that will work for you and your budget. We'd love to see you stay on your bicycle throughout the winter!
